I want to take a photo of my DH welding. But looking at the welding in action (without using a safety hood) can damage your eyes the same as staring directly at the sun can. So my question is...
Will taking a photo of that intense brightness that is the welding flame damage my camera in any way??
Any ideas where I could go to find the answer???
I have become totally obsessed with this idea!

I don't know if it would damage the camera sensor or not, but it might be too bright to get good results with unless you use an incredibly fast shutter speed and possibly a neutral density filter...

As long as you are far enough away from the welding action, you should be fine. I agree with the filter and fast SS.
